About To Be There

To Be There was established in 2013 in Bethlehem by a small group of colleagues and friends native to Palestine. Combined, we have over 50 years of experience in working with internationals from around the world including tourists, academics and researchers, film and documentary makers and other media agencies. We also have a great deal of experience of working with and for local and international NGOs.

Our expertise covers issues facing Palestine and its people related to the social, political and agricultural life of the country. Individually or as colleagues we have worked and have expertise in areas including

  • human rights;
  • building a civil society infrastructure;
  • rights and role of women;
  • support for people with disabilities;
  • Prisoner rights;
  • supporting, mentoring and nurturing young people;
  • life in the Camps and as Refugees;
  • the history of Palestine and;
  • life in rural communities as well as the cities and towns.

Why chose To Be There for your visit to Palestine

We have extensive experience in working with international tour groups – planning programmes and organising logistics. We are involved with a diverse network of contacts which ensure we can access additional expertise and provide you with the most up-to-date information, advice and guidance on where to go, what to do and who to speak to.

To Be There’s vision is a better informed and educated international community on the issues facing Palestine and its people living under one of the world’s longest military occupations of the 20th and 21st centuries (48 years and counting!).

Increasingly, Palestine is covered in social and mainstream media, yet many people don’t get the full picture and To Be There provides unique opportunities to learn more and to share what you see and learn when you return home. The combination of learning, witnessing and working alongside families will guarantee you the best introduction to Palestine you can hope for.

To Be There’s mission is the development and delivery of programmes which educate, inform and raise awareness — contributing to the realisation of peace, justice, equality, freedom and democracy; building a society where law prevails in the interest of all its citizens living and previously living in historic Palestine including its refugees expelled from their homes in 1948

See you in Palestine
